2023: Asiwaju is the best man to lead Nigeria- Adeola (Yayi)

The senator representing Lagos West, Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is the best man to lead Nigeria as from 2023.

Adeola, who is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, made the statement during an empowerment programme he organised for his constituents yesterday in Lagos.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that over 5,000 constituents trained in different vocations, such as catering, fashion designing, barbing and aquaculture, benefited from the programme.

Adeola described Asiwaju Tinubu as a man of competence and performance, saying he would not disappoint, if given the mandate to govern the country.

“We have seen all those contesting to be president of this great country in 2023. We have seen them all and I appeal to Nigerians to choose a leader that will add value.

“Without doubts, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is the best man for the job. He is able and enabled. He has the capacity to lead and his records of performance speak volumes.

“I can give the assurance that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is ready. If he is given the mandate to lead, he will not only meet expectations but will exceed them,” he said.

Adeola said the programme was aimed at making the beneficiaries self-dependent and employers of labour, rather than job seekers.

“What we are doing here today is to further thank you for making me your representative at the National Assembly.

“Since I was elected to represent you, I have taken the empowerment of my people very seriously. We did a mega programme earlier in the year; this is another one.

“We know those white-collar jobs are no more there, especially for our graduates. The training and empowerment with start-up kits will not only make beneficiaries self-dependent but employers of labour,” he said.

Adeola urged the constituents to vote massively for a former deputy governor of the state, Dr. Idiat Adebule, to succeed him in Lagos West.

A former Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mrs. Bola Badmus, hailed Adeola for organising the programme.

The Northcentral Vice Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Mr. Mukthar Akosile, also hailed the senator for organising the programme.

Akosile said the programme was proof that Adeola was youth-friendly.

Chairman of Odi-Olowo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State, Mr. Rasaq Ajala, described Adeola’s performance in Lagos West as phenomenal.

A beneficiary, Mr. Azeez Akeem, praised the senator for putting together the programme, saying he had been taught how to fish rather than being given fish.

NAN reports that the beneficiaries were given various items, such as sewing machines, barbers’ kits, aquaculture equipment, hair dryers and cash to start their businesses.

Also, a former Nasarawa State governor and senator representing Nasarawa South, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, has said Asiwaju Tinubu would replicate all his achievements while he was Lagos State governor, at the Federal level, if elected President in the 2023 general election.

Al-Makura spoke yesterday in Abuja at the inauguration of ARAS-G Northcentral Coordinators, recognition of 500 support groups affiliated to ARAS-G and launch of a book on Tinubu’s achievements, titled: Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu: The Light At the End of the Tunnel for Nigeria 2023.

The former governor, who is also the Head of Directorate of Support Groups at the Tinubu/Shetimma Independent Campaign Council, urged the support groups to deliver their polling units for all APC candidates.

Al-Makura, who was represented by Dominic Alancha, said: “I am glad that this group is dated back to 2015 and 2019. You participated actively in the processes that led to the victory of the APC in 2015 and 2019.

“…I am glad that the objective of ARAS-G is well stated to deliver your unit not only for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the APC but for all our elections from the President to the senators, to House of Representatives, governors and state Houses of Assembly.

“…You are here today to be equipped with what you need to drive the process of this campaign,” he said.

ARAS-G National Chairman Chukwunonso Ezedimma said the APC has the best presidential and vice presidential candidates in Asiwaju Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima.

He describes ARAS-G as a conglomeration of enterprising support groups that have been with the APC before, during and after elections, supporting its candidates, promoting its programmes, defending its policies and standing by its ideals, from 2015 till date.

“The 2023 general election will be won at the polling units and ARAS-G has shifted our mobilisation to the 774 local government areas, 8,809 wards and 176,846 polling units nationwide.

“Our members are under obligation to deliver their polling units, no wonder our result-oriented slogan is: Deliver Your Polling Unit,” he said.
