The United Kingdom (UK) chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) 2023 Campaign Council at the weekend, visited the Nigerian High Commissioner to UK, His Excellency Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola, as part of the plan to build lasting relationship with the UK High Commission and Nigerians in UK as the 2023 general elections draw nearer in Nigeria.

The Campaign Council’s delegation was led by the Chairman of the chapter, Hon. Tunde Doherty.

Others members of the delegation include, Director-General of the Council, Hon. Muyiwa Adesuwa, Elder Don Anyiam, Hon. Bukola Apena, Deputy DG, Hon. Ifeoma Nwankwo, Secretary APC Diaspora PCC, Hon. Ayokunle Agunbiade, Secretary of the Campaign Council, Hajia Ayisat Gbajabiamila, CC Director of Media, Prince Bidemi Akintunde, member APC Diaspora PCC, Prince Olateru Olagbegi, Hon. Ṣadé Adewale Peppersne, Hon. Wale Adewumi, Hon. Christie Akpehuan Omoruyi member APC PCC,Apostle Olasukanmi, Hon. Rukayat Basaru and Hon. Nike Bamisaye.

Speaking on why they were at the Nigeria High Commission, Hon. Tunde Doherty said the council called on the ambassador in order to intimate him of APC UK, CC’s plans for the weeks leading to the general elections in Nigeria, as well as the Council’s achievements so far within the short period of its inauguration in UK.

The DG of the Council, Hon. Muyiwa Adesuwa in his address told their host, “the Council has perfected plans to begin its campaign, with rallies across the cities in UK to sensitize Nigerians on the need to sensitize Nigerians (especially, their families and friends at home) to vote Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima in the 2023 presidential elections in Nigeria.

Responding, Ambassador Tunji Isola while expressing his appreciation at the Council’s gesture, said the visit was a family affair.

He urged all members of the council to collaborate and network in order to build formidable group in diaspora.

According to him, the Council could achieve more by being their brother’s keeper, urging members of the council to see themselves as one united team.

“Members of this group should focus more on the need to be united.That is the only way to achieve the desired dream in the forthcoming elections”, Ambassador Isola said.

Highlights of the meeting incluudes the presentation of official website of the APC UK campaign council to Ambassador Isola by the Publicity Secretary of the council, Hon.Tunde Ajisola.

The council Youth leader, Hon. Sekinat Adams also presented a specially made  trophy to the ambassador, while Hon. Doherty presented the official campaign souvenirs like caps and t-shirts to him.

Director of Operations, Dr.Olatunji Násíru, and Eta Iyalode Kemi Kalejaye rounded up the meeting with vote of thanks.

The council also on the day hosted the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu to a dinner at Abuja House, London.
