Can we meet you Sir?

I am Dr. Babatunde Mesewaku. I retired from the Lagos State Public Service in year 2021 as Permanent Secretary, having served more than 25 years of my entire service years in the service of Lagos State Local Government. I was Council Manager in several Local Governments and Local Council Development Councils for about 13 years before my deployment to the mainstream of the Lagos State Public Service in 2017.

I was deployed to the Ministry of Tourism Arts and Culture on my appointment as Permanent Secretary where I initiated some landmark legacies.

I am a published author of four publications. The last one was published in 2021 titled Developing Lagos Tourism: Principles and Practices.

Tourism is my passion, it is on this background that I was appointment as the Chairman, Institute for Tourism Professionals of Nigeria, Lagos Chapter.

Kindly share with us your political history……

I joined politics effectively in 2006 when I was part of the G 7 that orchestrated and engineered the emergency  of late Mayomi George as Chairman of Badagry Local Government during the Zero Party regime introduced by Gen. Abacha. I later joined AD, which later metamorphosed to AC, ACN and finally to APC.

In 2015 contested for the primaries of Lagos House of Assembly Badagry Constituency I under ACN which I lost narrowly to the incumbent then. I recontested in 2018 but the election was inconclusive and the final result was determined by the Party. Within this period I launched a group called Badagry Change Project (BCP) which I used to drive my political ambition and still alive till date. 

I was appointed Coordinator of Sanwo olu foothsoldiers in Badagry in 2018 and Badagry divisional coordinator of Buhari and Oshinbajo second term bid.

I am currently Director of Volunteers Organisation for Tinubu Support Organization TSO.

Considering your stake in the Lagos APC,Sir we want you to speak on the credibility of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the APC presidential candidate………

Let me State here unequivocally that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is man of destiny. He is God sent! It’s only God that could stop him becoming President of Nigeria. And that will happen only if God changed His mind. God is not human being that could change his mind in middle of a game.

Asiwaju has nothing to prove again as to his ability, capacity and credibility. There are avalanche of evidences that speak to all these.

He is a maverick, a special being enormous and diverse abilities couple with daunting courage to take daunting decisions for transformation. 

Nigeria is yet to see the best of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

What’s your prospect on Nigeria tourism development come 2023 and beyond……..

I believe very strong that with what is going on presently in Lagos State with respect to Tourism awareness, level of consciousness and development, the Administration of Tinubu will give Tourism deserved attention and that will be monumental in terms of increase in the nation GDP.
