I’ll change the Almajiri system- Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu

If elected president of Nigeria in 2023, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has pledged to change the Almajiri system in the country’s northern region.

This claim was made by Asiwaju on Monday in a speech at Chatham House, an independent policy think tank in London, England.

When asked how his government would help Nigerian youngsters become productive if he were to win the 2023 presidential election, Tinubu stated there would be student loans and a supportive framework for young people to build technology.

While administering Lagos, the former governor of Lagos State claimed to have succeeded in converting many liabilities into assets, however he did not say how.

Student loans will be available (for Nigerian students).
The Almajiri system will be revised.
The kids can create their own technical language, according to Asiwaju.

Almajiri is the name of an Islamic educational system used in northern Nigeria, when male children and youths leave the security of their homes to pursue Islamic education.

The Almajiri, on the other hand, have drawn a lot of criticism because they can be seen begging for money in car parks, ATM locations, hotels, brothels, traffic jams, and even in front of places of worship in all of the northern Nigerian cities.

The political elite has effectively reduced the majority of them to tools, using them against Nigerian society’s best interests.
