Former Kano State governor and G-7 faction leader of the Kano APC (All Progressives Congress), Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, has confirmed that the agenda of his Sunday meeting with former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu, was the ongoing party crisis in Kano.

Speaking in an interview with BBC Hausa on Tuesday, the former governor stated that Bola Tinubu had earlier made a phone call to him, requesting to see him. Following that he, Shekarau, promised to visit whenever he was in Lagos.

Referring to his discussions with the national party leader, Shekarau stated that Tinubu’s objective was to inquire about the current Kano APC party tension, to which he briefed the National party leader on all the goings-on.

Answering the question on whether they had any discussions on Tinubu’s presidential ambition, Shekarau responded  “We are both leaders in the APC, and we have good relations. So with or without this crisis happening in Kano, we can meet to discuss issues of our great party.”
