President Bola Tinubu is back to Nigeria after attending the Joint Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The President arrived at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, last night and was received by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, ministers, and security heads, among others.

The summit, which was hosted by King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, focused on current issues in the Middle East.

While at the Summit, Tinubu called for a decisive global action to end the ongoing violence in Gaza, urging world leaders to move beyond symbolic condemnations.

He called on parties in the conflict in the Middle East to respect the principles of proportionality and the basic rights of civilians, consistent with global legal and diplomatic frameworks.

”In a rules-based international order, States have the right of self-defence. But self defence must take proportionality into account, in line with global legal, diplomatic – and moral – frameworks.

”An entire civilian population, their dreams and futures, cannot be dismissed as collateral,” he said.

On the sidelines of the Summit, President Tinubu held talks with Saudi Arabia’s Crown, Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The President was accompanied on the trip by key officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar; the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris; and the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Mohammed Mohammed.
